How to send a .mobi file to your Kindle
Normally you’ll download files directly to your Kindle from Amazon. But if you have the .mobi file from somewhere else you are able to send it to your Kindle yourself. See here.
How to send a .mobi/.epub file from your Mac to your iPad/iPhone
- get the free Kindle app from the App store onto your iPad/iPhone
- connect your iPad to your Mac with the USB cable
- go to iTunes on your Mac, click on the iPad button in the top right of the Menu bar
- click on Apps in the menu bar that then appears
- scroll down to File Sharing. You should see the Kindle app in the list, click it, the click the Add button. Find the .mobi/.epub file of the book that you downloaded to your Mac. It should appear in the File Sharing list
- the .mobi/.epub file should now be readable in the Kindle app on your ipad
